AlphaSkate, a local Bay Area company has emerged with some interesting and innovative new products, including the Alpha Microtool, which we got a chance to try out when tuning up a few of our boards. Made with super strong 4140 hardened steel chrome-plated mirror finish--you know it's a rugged piece of equipment by just holding it in your hand and feeling the weight of it.

The Microtool is actually 6 tools in 1. It provides a 9/16" wrench for kingpins, 1/2" wrench and socket for axles, 3/8" wrench, 1/8" inch allen, and #2 phillips for mounting hardware. Another cool feature is the knurled section of the inner shaft, which doubles as a grip tape file and hand grip. Inserting the inner shaft into the 9/16" section creates a handle that gives you plenty of leverage for cranking down axle nuts or mounting hardware. By screwing the inner shaft into the socket end, it becomes a 4" handle for adjusting kingpins. We actually got more leverage this way than from a standard skatekey, which says a lot about a tool that's half the size.

AlphaSkate has surely done their homework in designing this compact yet versatile tool. A very well thought out product with top quality precision workmanship. No wonder why it won "Best Of Show" at ASR. Tr3spass gives the Alpha microtool a 2 thumbs up!
